ClarkDietrich Drift Head-of-wall clips are used in deflection conditions for in-fill curtain wall assemblies and/or interior nonload-bearing partitions to provide for both vertical (deflection) and lateral (drift) movement.

ClarkDietrich Drift Head-of-wall clips are used in deflection conditions for in-fill curtain wall assemblies and/or interior nonload-bearing partitions to provide for both vertical (deflection) and lateral (drift) movement.
The Drift Head-of-wall clips can be attached to the underside of structural members, concrete decks or floor assemblies. Structural attachments are positioned in the center of the slot with a bushing to allow building drift. The DHW clip can be installed on the hard or soft side of the stud.
Drift Bushings and Deflection Screws.
Step bushings are provided for the connection to the structure and allow for 2" lateral deflection (1" left and right). Proprietary Deflection Screws are provided for the connection of the clip to the stud and allow for 2" vertical deflection (1" up and down). ClarkDietrich deflection clips include our Proprietary Deflection Screw that have been specifically designed to provide friction-free deflection. These fasteners eliminate drag, binding or resistance that can often occur with common fasteners.
